Our Montreal lab is housed in a former textile factory along the Mile-Ex neighbourhood, which has quickly become a new hub for artificial intelligence research. Our neighbours include Element AI, IVADO, Thales, and spectacular coffee shops. McGill Prof. Jackie Cheung acts as academic advisor and helps direct the centre’s focus on natural language processing.

With close ties to the University of Alberta and the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii), our Edmonton lab seeks to build on the work already established in the “birthplace” of reinforcement learning. Under the leadership of Prof. Matthew E. Taylor, our Edmonton team is focused on solving fundamental and applied RL problems along with a research focus on issues of privacy and bias in AI.
