People Operations Generalist - 12 Month Contract

What's the opportunity?

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Human Resources professional to take on our People Operations Generalist role for a 12 month contract.  In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, execution and overall program management across our People Programs, including but not limited to Performance Management, Compensation, Employee Engagement, Learning & Development and more. This role will support our efforts to build an effective hybrid working model across Borealis through collection of ongoing feedback and iteration. You will have the opportunity to partner with leading Machine Learning Engineers and Research leaders to support their innovative, high performing teams in an agile work environment.  As a member of the broader Operations team, you will be joining a group that believes in being Bold & Curious, so we are looking for someone who is creative, eager to learn and looking to make an impact! 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing our Mid & Year-End Performance Management program, including determining dates, drafting communications, supporting materials and program review;
  • Supporting our Compensation program including new hire, promotion and Year-End compensation proposals, partnering with leaders and other stakeholders to collect data and keep up to date on market trends;
  • Leading our Employee Engagement efforts, including project management and analysis of our Employee Engagement Survey data, and creating plans to address our areas of focus;
  • Contributing to the implementation of operational efficiencies to improve processes across People Operations & Recruitment;
  • Evaluating, iterate and recommend People Programs that support our innovative and explorative hybrid, agile working model;
  • Supporting in developing our People Manager group, including determining development areas, bi-monthly People Manager Forum topics, creating resources, etc;
  • Working collaboratively with our RBC Partners across Human Resources. 

You're our ideal candidate if you have:

  • Graduate of a business administration, business management degree/certificate or relevant experience;
  • CHRP designation would be an asset;
  • 2-4 years relevant human resources/people operations experience;
  • Keen interest in performance management, compensation and learning development areas of human resources; 
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills; ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally;
  • Ability to work independently and think critically; 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
